The last day of the decade is here, I’m really looking forward to 2020 getting underway!

After spending the last 10 years in Calgary, it came to me that I had never been to the Calgary Zoo to experience Zoolights, the annual festival of lights at the Zoo. It’s a great fundraiser to support the Zoo’s conservation efforts at many levels. The weather was great on the 30th, and there was a huge crowd out to the Zoolights. It was awesome to see.

A few summers ago Alexandre and I were out camping at Grasslands National Park in southern Saskatchewan and we came across Calgary Zoo staff out doing research on the burrowing owl, just one of the many conservation efforts the Zoo supports. There will be more to come on Grasslands National Park here in 2020.
