Life in Egypt

I’m finally getting started on curating some galleries for the website, the day job is cutting into my photography. But that’s ok, it’s what funds things. :-) Just one for now, but with the poor weather this weekend, I’m anticipating I can narrow down a few more soon.

This is kind of a challenge, although I probably picked the hardest set to work with to start. I spent 6 weeks in Egypt and Jordan at the end of 2010 and to be honest didn’t have a lot of focus on anything in particular. I did find however a few different themes that I was able to stratify to narrow things down.

Of course I got photos of all the most famous spots, I quickly discounted those, I will not be showing any pyramid photos. :-)

What I did find was a set of photographs that kind of shows, I think anyways, real life away from the tourist spots. I have selected 12 of my favourites to exhibit. I’ll be printing and framing these.

This has been a great exercise for me, I really hadn’t looked at any of the photographs since 2011, my favourites now were not my favourites then.

Anyways, I hope 2017 is treating you well in life and your photography!

Best regards,
Dean Chartier
